More than anything else, his humility, honesty and dignity shines through in his writing. Throughout it all, he maintained a deep love for his family and his home and offers interesting insights into his quite complex spirituality and difficult to argue against justifications for his actions. It’s almost impossible to believe that one man could have experienced and done so much but the evidence is all there, Reaves has had more than nine lives and made the most of each one. From a humble, rural childhood in the Deep South to salmon fishing in the Pacific, firefighting, antique dealing, cruising the world on sailing boats, smuggling tons of cocaine by air from Central America and latterly running from the law all over the world and ending up being incarcerated for over three decades, Roger Reaves has done it all. Roger is an engaging writer with a raw and honest style, his detailed account of a fascinating and exciting life is hard to put down.
